Simmental Solutions
On February 19th the Ohio Simmental Association held their 40th
Annual Membership meeting at the Dutch Heritage Restaurant in
Bellville, OH.  President Tim Brinkman presided over the meet where
75 members were present.  
The membership reelected Tim Brinkman to the board along with the
election of new board members Tom Wise and Pat Walrath.  
The OSA recognizes a member every year for the Outstanding Member
Award winner and this year’s recipient was Dana Handrosh.
The OSA board also likes to recognize our juniors for their hard work
throughout the year.  This year’s Bronze award winners were Hallee
Allen, Taylor Clayton, Garrett Stanfield, Marcia Hoovler, and Michael
Stanfield-Fegley.
Every year we also recognize any Junior members that had Supreme
Champion or Reserve Heifers or Steers at their county fair and this
year awards were given to Zach Isler, Marion County; Kyle Brinkman,
Henry County; Rachel Linder, Stark County; Zach Henthorn,
Washington County; Taylor Clayton, Crawford County; Morgan
Fackler, Richland County; Walker Fackler, Richland County; Kody
Cool, Tuscarawas County; Konnor Cool, Tuscarawas County; and
Spencer McGinity, Richland County.
During the meeting the OJSA gives out some awards of their own and
this year the OJSA Family of the Year is the Fackler Family of Richland
County, they received this award for their hard work in hosting the
Memorial Day Classic Show.  The juniors gave their Honorary Service
Award to the Brinkman Family of Henry County for their years of
wonderful service.
